Improve your outlook & build a positive mental attitude

by | Jan 16, 2020 | Exercising & Lifestyle

Your way of viewing life draws many similarities to which pair of glasses you decide to wear. Attitude is simply a lens in which you choose to view life.

Winston Churchill once said, “It’s the little thing that makes a big difference.”

Having a positive mental attitude does not always mean everything will turn out okay. A positive mental attitude is knowing that you will be okay no matter how things turn out!

The secret ingredients to PMA:

Patience
Patience is a virtue, one’s ability to wait for good things to come without developing frustration or anger is a very helpful trait towards building a positive mental attitude.

‘Nothing worth having comes easy’ just like health and fitness, our members work until the 25th minute giving everything they can, however results don’t happen over-night. (We wish they did!) Always keeping a positive attitude towards your fitness journey is key and great results take time.

Flexibility
Have an open mind, not everything is always going to go your way but coping with these circumstances and finding solution’s, not problems will help us embrace change and enjoy the journey. The path to success is not a straight line.

Courage
They say the best way out of difficulty is through it.
You don’t always have a lot of control over what happens in your life, but you have a lot more control over what goes on in your head. Start by having positive conversations with yourself and train your brain to think beyond the bad and focus on the good.

Here is a successful formula which will help put you in control of your life ‘ERO’.

E + R = O (Event + Response = Outcome)

You can’t always change the event however you can change your response and attitude. How you decide to respond towards a situation will determine the outcome.

Remember HITZoners, a negative mind will never give you a positive life and, “The only disability in life is having a bad attitude.” – Scott Hamilton

Regardless of age or ability, studies have shown that engaging in regular physical exercise will boost your positive thinking capacity and lead you to a happier, healthier life.
